Spring Stormwater Tips
ONLY RAIN BELONGS IN THE DRAIN
Remember, storm drains are not garbage disposals. Objects like rocks, sticks, leaves, and trash should be cleared to allow the drain to do it’s job.
USE CHEMICALS SPARINGLY
Spring is time for residents to get their yards in tip-top shape. Here are a couple eco-friendly suggestions:
Choose an organic fertilizer, like grass clippings.
Purchase household and garden products from your local hardware store that are "least toxic" to the environment, like insecticidal soap.
If you must use pesticides, do so carefully and sparingly - Follow directions on the pesticide label and apply them where the pests are found.
Don't apply pesticides if it is windy or if rain is expected to prevent drift and runoff.
