Storm and Fire

Emergency firefighting activities are exempt from Stormwater requirements.

However, water quality in rivers, lakes, and creeks can be affected as a result of pollutants mobilized by the fire and chemicals used to fight the fire. The best way to mitigate this is to implement runoff control measures to protect storm drains whenever water is involved.
